Join our ONLINE WORKSHOP and learn how to make a beautiful macramé plant hanger from the comfort of your own home.

This class is ideal for beginners who are interested in learning the basics of macramé. You will learn a variety of different knotting techniques that will give you the basic knowledge to create a stunning macramé plant hanger. You will be so in love with your new creation, that you will want to make 100 more and turn your home into an urban jungle!

What you will learn:

  • What materials to use

  • Setting up your workspace

  • How to create the hanging loop

  • Fastening knot

  • Square knot

  • Half square knot - spiral

  • Additional advance level knots for the who would like to learn more (time dependant)

  • How to build a basket for your pot

  • Closing Knots

Select the “Live class + Kit” option if you would like us to prepare and send you the materials via SF Express.

What you will get in your kit:

  • Approx 32m of pre-cut 4mm 100% cotton twisted rope (cream colour),

  • 1 x Wooden ring

  • 1x Metal S-hook ,

  • A Macramé knotting guide

  • P&P is included.

Please order 4 working days in advance to ensure that your parcel will arrive in time for the workshop.

Select “Additional materials” if you would like to order an extra set of materials for your friend / housemate to join in with you (or so that you can start making more right away!). Kindly note, this must be ordered at the same time as the “Live class + Kit” and sent in the same parcel, otherwise additional shipping fees will need to be arranged.

Additionally, there is a “Live class” option if you would like to just watch the live workshop. No DIY kit will be sent. You will need to prepare the materials for yourself if you would like to make along with us in real-time. I will send you instructions in advance to advise you what lengths to cut your ropes, this will need to be prepared before the workshop.

Tools you will need:

  • Scissors

  • Measuring tape

  • A plant pot - it is important to have the correct size pot that you are making the hanger for. I recommend something that is not too heavy. You can also use recycled glass jam jars

  • A place to work from - a hook on the back of a door, a clothes stand, a book shelf, a coat rack, curtain rail, etc. Somewhere you can hang your s-hook and ropes from and work at eye level.

  • A chopstick (or pointed object) - for tucking away loose ends of rope

This workshop will be held online via Zoom. Participants will be sent a zoom link and an access password to join the live streaming before the workshop. Please ensure you have signed up for a zoom account (it’s free) in advance.
